Amai Sushi, nestled in Winnipeg's Plessis Rd, is a vibrant dining spot garnering praise for its delightful sushi offerings. Reviewers have consistently lauded its unique rolls, particularly the Lovey Dovey and TNT rolls, both celebrated for their freshness and flavorful enhancements like spicy mayo. Customers have noted that the sushi is not just a feast for the palate but also an artistic presentation, adding an element of joy to the dining experience.
The service at Amai Sushi is also a highlight, with staff described as friendly and attentive, although there are occasional lapses in service speed during peak times. The atmosphere, while cozy, does feel somewhat bustling due to the high volume of takeout orders, but this hardly detracts from the overall enjoyment.
For families or larger groups, the portion sizes are generous, ensuring that everyone leaves satisfied. Dishes like yakisoba and yaki-udon offer a nice variety for those seeking authentic Asian flavors beyond sushi. Many customers express eagerness to return, solidifying Amai Sushi as a must-visit for sushi lovers in the area. Overall, Amai Sushi combines great food, vibrant flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a standout dining destination in Winnipeg.

Went to this place for Father’s Day due to its high reviews and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. We ordered 9 rolls, all super tasty and fresh. The rolls sizes are large and well portioned. The tempura, while delicious, is a bit pricey for the few pieces you get. For a family of 4, and some appies, we found we may have ordered 1-2 rolls too many but they were all so good, and the price point was very reasonable. The atmosphere was small and quaint. The amount of people coming and going with takeout does remove a bit of the atmosphere due to the size of the restaurant and the tables being so close in proximity to the doo but it certainly didn’t take away from our experience. The only thing that could use improvement would be more attentive service as it took a while to take our order or check in to see if we had any questions and then what seemed like another 15 minutes to get our drinks but once the initial order part was over, everything else flowed quickly. This will definitely be our new sushi place and can’t wait to go back!!

I've had food from Amai Sushi multiple times now and it's always been good. I've had their yakisoba, yaki-udon and bulgogi. You get a lot for your money because the portions are quite big. It's nice to be able to finally get some Korean food in Transcona.

First time trying Amai Sushi for a date night and the sushi rolls were so fresh and beautifully presented. It felt like the avocadoes had just been hand picked from a garden TODAY. The Amai Special roll and TNT roll will be a repeat favourite for our next visit. Definitely an underrated sushi place. As for the korean menu, the bulgogi was a bit too sweet and the veggie stir fry was tough. The beef galbi marinade smelled so good if you like soy and sesame. I think the value is also great for the serving size and quality of the food. Overall, the staff was very friendly, the ambience isn't too noisy even though it was full, we will be back soon!

Nice little place at the end of regent. We had bulgogi, sashimi, rainbow roll, and the gomae salad. The gomae was delicious but small for its 9. The sashimi was excellent with 12 large slices. The roll had a good fish to rice ratio. The soy sauce is thinner than usual, but tasty (and healthier). The bulgogi was fresh, sizzling and a good size for its price. Service was very friendly and quick. The ambience is minimalistic, clean, modern, but it feels like a take out. The seating is very comfortable (love the chairs). It’s just not a place you would go for a fine or business dinner, although the quality of the food is excellent.

I've always had Sushi but never really had restaurant style sushi and it was so good. The atmosphere was good, music was good and the price was not bad at all. We also had Stir fried beef and vegetables and Salmon. They were served with a bowl of rice, each. These were absolutely awesome. If I ever feel like having sushi again, I'll know where to go.
